From the monthly archives: July 2009

Take a team of creative artists, give them just 15 days to output 100 completely custom sample finishes and stand clear. This last month at Imago Dei has been the fast and furious of creative production. From the design to the physical output of 100 custom, innovative, multi-layered, multi-technique, large sample boards, Imago Dei artists were put to the test and aced it.

What this means for the homeowner is that we are building a huge inventory for our design library – all available to you. We customize finishes and treatments specific to each room to suit each client’s needs. And you can view the finish in the actual environment to comparelighting, other colors in the room, etc.

Samples finishes included plaster, paint, metallics, gold and silver leaf, pearl, burnishing, brushing, rubbing, detailing and all new custom in-house vinyl patterns. And a few proprietary secrets for application that we’ll take to the grave.

Did you know that Imago Dei can create custom stencil patterns in-house with our Vinyl Plotter/Cutter? This capability is the perfect opportunity to get a custom look that picks up the unique design elements of your fabrics, fixtures, moulding, wallpapers or other decorating features. No longer are you limited by the existing patterns and tastes of stock stencil patterns. Whats more is that Bella Stampinos are typically more affordable than hand-painted designs.

Bella Stampinos can be applied to just about any interior surface; walls, ceilings, domes, vaults, floors, even furniture. From a single embellishment over an arch or door to incredibly complex ornamental designs – there possibilities are limitless! Bella Stampino is Italian for “beautiful stencil” which is perfectly suited for our applications. Here are just a few examples from a few recent projects of incorporating Bella Stampinos:

When you think of summer, you think of relaxing by the pool, reading a favorite book, cool ocean breezes, or even simply taking the time to enjoy all the natural beauty that surrounds you. The workaday world seems to melt away as you relax with the calming and soothing colors and textures that summer brings. Linen, khaki, sand, the iridescence of shell, all these colors and textures immediately evoke the feelings of summer. The newest samples in our repertoire for interior spaces can recreate that feeling in your home, ensuring year-round delight.

Pearlescent #784 As beautiful as nature’s own, but stacked in an innovative contemporary manner. Mimicking strips of mother of pearl shells, a visual and tactile surprise. Pearlescent #784 is a multi-layer texture, using different hues and applications in order to achieve the look and iridescence of shell.

Applications: Pearlescent #784 is a stunning treatment and should be reserved for areas that you want to make a dramatic statement. E g. powder rooms, a bedroom accent wall, a backsplash, or a corporate conference room.

Champagne Lace #781 This uniquely beautiful stencil will create a conversation piece in any room. Champagne Lace #781 is a metallic stenciling over a matte cream background. With cream and khaki tones, this finish brings serenity to the home, while the shimmered tones of the stencil allow refinement to complete the look.

Applications: Champagne Lace #781 was especially designed for application in large spaces where a standard stencil would not be proportionately large enough. This is a large, yet open pattern and is perfectly suited for a large bedroom, dining room or hallway.

Empress Damask #796 This blend of patterns creates such a beautiful statement on any wall, ensuring sophistication in any room. Reminiscent of flocked wallpaper with gilded details, Empress Damask #796 will be a wonderfully decadent addition. Empress Damask #796 is a multi-layer stenciling finish with great details, ensuring your enjoyment of this finish for years to come.

Applications: Because of its delicacy and complexity one should reserve Empress Damask #796 for smaller treatments that demand something stunning. For example: Coffer/pop-up/barreled ceilings, art niche, lobby, or accent wall.
